Castles and Gardens
Dunstanburgh Castle
Distance from Craster: 1 mile
The walk to Dunstanburgh Castle has been voted one of the UK’s Top 10 favourite walks. From the picturesque Craster harbour, the castle is just over a mile away.
Alnwick Castle and Garden
Distance from Craster: 7 miles
Majestic Alnwick Castle dominates this pretty market town. The film location of the Harry Potter films as well as Downton Abbey, you can book your Quidditch lesson held in the castle grounds. Also visit the stunning Alnwick Garden which is located on the same site, their poison garden is worth the visit alone.
Bamburgh Castle

The dramatically placed castle dominates the pretty coastal village of Bamburgh. Perched on a rocky plateau the 1,400 year old was a royal fortress, a Norman stronghold and is now a coastal home and visitor attraction.

Birder’s Paradise

A trip to the Farne Islands to see the incredible seabird colonies including puffins (in season) is a must. In autumn huge flocks of migratory geese arrive in Northumberland.
Seal Spotting

View Northumberland’s large seal colonies all year round on The Farne Islands, Coquet Island and on Lindisfarne’s sand flats. If you’re lucky you might also see dolphins and harbour porpoises.
Farne Island Boat Trips

A unique opportunity to take a boat trip to visit the nearby Farne Islands. We can arrange private open water sessions so you can swim with the native seals at Longstone Lighthouse.
